This format is for organisations who want their people to develop their general business acumen but who are after something intensive, competitive and fun. It is ideally suited to being a component within an annual management conference.

In this shortened format, only three decision rounds are completed and again the available information is phased in at a digestible rate. Because this format is less about the use of detailed financial information and more about developing business acumen, the ratios are not provided. Instead, teams rely on available graphs as well as the accounts and marketing reports. With this version, it is assumed that participants will already have some familiarity with financial data. Explanations will still appear at the click of a mouse or the flick of a booklet but the facilitator will be a peripheral figure until the final review of the simulation.

This is how we phase in the information:

• Round One Decision – P&L and public domain report
• Round Two Decision – Above plus marketing reports, some graphs, balance sheet
• Round Three Decision – Above plus constraints report, more graphs, cash flow

The half day simulation lives on the same state-of-the-art servers as the full version and is also accessed via the internet without the need for special software. Its almost instantaneous processing of the teams’ decisions means that the rounds of the simulation can flow easily from one to the next. Of course, you may prefer to use the simulation in stages over the course of a day or more, interspersing its rounds between sessions of your conference.

In this version, participants again receive their own booklet, providing background information on their tasks and useful reference material for the future.

Like the one day format, this option allows an appropriate in-house trainer to facilitate the programme at a reduced cost
